Do you really need 500hp? Then check out the Nitto NT01.

Especially in a FWD car.  On the street?  Well, I'm not here to argue the fact that you don't--it's your money and last I checked, we were in the U.S.  Tire manufacturers are slowly living on the edge and releasing softer compound tires, with D.O.T. approval.  This rocks.

Evolution, yeah.  Back in 1994, everyone thought that the BFG Euro T/A was the way to go.  Funny when you look back.  I always questioned why you would want to have circumvential grooves & small tread blocks in a tire for performance, especially in SoCal, where it's 84 degrees in November (really, it is).

Anyhow, long story short, I finally decided to grow some minerals: I'm using a set of Nitto NT01's....on the street.  After one track day, they tires still have plenty of life, and continue to wear very well on the street.  Granted, my car doesn't put down 500hp, but man, these tires are STICKY.  So sticky that I broke the cage in one of my CV's driving 70mph into a turn.

The motor that's been built for my project car has all the proper hard parts to handle 500-600 whp...so I'll be using these.  Gotta upgrade the CV's though.  Can't wait.  What kind of tires do you run on the street?
